Emmanuel College is a four-year, residential Catholic liberal arts college founded in 1919 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. It remained a women’s college until 2001, at which point it became completely coeducational. (Tuition and fees: $26,250 — Room/board: $11,200 [*]) Emmanuel is a part of the Colleges of the Fenway consortium and is situated adjacent to the Longwood Medical District. The Public Latin School, a public exam school founded in 1635, is the oldest public school in America.
